William H. "Bud" Self

William H. “Bud” Self, 68, of Bartlett, was called home on August 8, 2014. Born in Wynne, AR on March 16, 1946 to James and Lois Self, Bud was a dispatcher for 15 years at M.S. Carriers, 6 years at Ozark, and retired as the Co-Owner of Bedrock Express in 2009. Since that time, he has enjoyed watching NASCAR races, yard work, and spending time with his family. In his younger days, Bud’s favorite hobby was building and driving stock cars with his best buddy and teammate, Barry Burch. Mr. Self was preceded in death by his father, James Self. Bud leaves behind a loving family including his wife of 40 years, Patricia; 2 daughters, Stormy Brigance and Tracy Self; his son, William Wilson; his granddaughter, Rebekah “the Princess” Brigance; his grandson, Kaleb Wilson; and his faithful dog, Aurora. Survivors also include his mother, Lois Beggs; 2 sisters, Ruth Ward (Rayford) and Belinda Reeves; and his brother, Jim Self. The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10, and funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue.
