

He met the love of his life, Joyce Nelson Shipman at Graceland College in Lamoni. They soon married and moved to Memphis, TN where they raised four children. Bill was a truck driver for most of their union.
Bill loved music and also enjoyed playing the guitar while his son David played the banjo. Bill and Joyce enjoyed singing in the choir at church along with his sisters and their husbands. During the holidays they would often gather around the piano and sing. Bill and Joyce would sing duets at wedding, the most requested song was “The Hawaiian Wedding” song.
Bill also enjoyed working in his workshop and working on cars, lawnmowers, any kind of engine.
On special occasions he would cook teriyaki steak for the family.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Joyce, parents Frank and Lillian Shipman, half brother Frank Jr. wife Barbara, sister Yvonne and Herb Hammer, sister Leah Ne' and Keith Van Nieuwenhuyze.
He is survived by their 4 children, Sherry (Rick) Henry, Valerie Shipman, Cindy (Jeff) Stewart and David (Michelle) Shipman, 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
