
Janet M. Erdman, age 77, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. She was born January 29, 1934 to the late Cletus and Gertrude (Schultz) Vander Heyden. Janet had a great education and received degrees from both Lawrence University and Marquette University. She was a 5th grade teacher for most of her career, having taught at St. Therese School in Appleton and Gegan School in Menasha.
She was an avid reader and a long-time Friend of the Appleton Library. She also enjoyed gardening, and doing crossword and pieced puzzles. Janet loved the company of her many friends and especially enjoyed luncheons at Fox Valley Tech and the Alumni Lunches at Lawrence University. She was patriotic and enjoyed politics. Her children had fond memories of visiting the family company with their mother, Twin City Bottling Works.
Janet will be greatly missed by her children: Hope Heeren and Mark Buchberger; her grandchild, Matt Buchberger; her brother, William Vander Heyden. She was preceded in death by her sister, Delores Albert.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha.
