Margaret H. Weber, age 86, passed away with her family at her side, on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. Margaret was born on August 28, 1924 in Florence, WI. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Gammey. She was baptized on September 21, 1924 at St. Mary’s Church in Florence, WI. In 1942, Margaret graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Menasha. On November 22, 1947, she was united in marriage to the late John J. Weber at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. Their marriage was blessed with nine children. Margaret completed two years of nursing school in Green Bay. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Winnebago County Hospital. Margaret also worked as a tester for Galloway Co. and Kimberly Clark. She started a tape ministry at St. Patrick Catholic Church and was also certified to teach catechism. Margaret was very involved in the prolife movement. When the family lived in Francis Creek, Margaret started the church bulletin at St. Anne Catholic Church.
Margaret will be missed by her loving children and their spouses: Mike (Rita) Weber, Grafton, Mark (Elly) Weber, Howards Grove, Geralyn (Steven) Paquette, Manitowoc, Judy and Mary Weber, Long Beach, CA, Connie Weber, Menasha, Rose (Ron) Brantmeier, Appleton; 11 grandchildren: Tomas Weber, Julio Weber, Daniel Schmalz, Phillip J. Weber, Rachel Weber, Nathan Weber, Zachary Weber, Cory Paquette, Sheri Weber, Christine and Amber Brantmeier, and 6 great-grandchildren: Arianna, Madelyn, Lydia, Luci, Kaiah, and Alyanna; a sister, Mary Lou Nollan, Chula Vista, CA.
Margaret was preceded in death by two sons: Steven and Paul Weber, two brothers: Louis and Joseph Gammey; and one sister, Monica Koerner.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 324 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the hour of the service at the church. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Cherry Meadows hospice for the care and compassion shown to Margaret and her family in her last days.
