Where do I begin this is so difficult just thinking of you make’s me cry 😢 I have so many memories as a child growing up in your home my mother always working you were the father I needed in my life you taught me so many life lessons you never judged me I always felt loved when I was around you you taught me discipline respect compassion for other people honesty you helped build me into a man A GOOD MAN!!! I remember you taking us to the slough teaching us how to fly a kite taking me to my baseball practices and game’s you definitely filled that void I was missing I was so difficult as a kid but you had a soft spot for me I’ll never forget the way you would yodel in the shower or the Olympia’s you would drink I’ll always remember you and my mom picking me up from my unwanted vacation so happy to see you as you were me again never judging me but showing what you always did “IM HERE” you are the 3rd greatest man in my life to lose and the hardest every time I hear country music I want to cry my memories will forever be my peace I was blesssed with 48 year’s of life with you I just hope I made you proud because I was proud to be your grandson I WILL FOREVER MISS YOU GRANDPA 😢 I LOVE YOU 💙 Your grandson Mark

Grandpa 
I have so many wonderful memories growing up with you and grandma. I remember vividly the smell of coffee as we passed the coffee plant  on our way to pick you up from work when you lived in Harbor City. 
I remember when you guys first moved to Sun City in the late 80’s, I thought it was so cool that you guys had a community pool and the sun out there seemed way hotter 
Every summer when I’d come to visit my dad in middle school and early high school I loved that I got to walk to your house several times a week.
Watch super market sweep, play Yahtzee with grandma and see you tickering on your motorcycle in the garage. 
I also admired how much you loved and treated grandma. I will always remember the smell of your house and anytime we would visit and leave. You and grandma would  stand on the drive way and wave good bye. I am so honored to have you as my grandfather and grateful to have witness the love, gentleness, compassion and hard work you modeled thru your entire life. 
We miss you and love you so much and we know you will greet us in heaven when it’s our time.

Our family met the Walston family in 1962 when they moved across the street from us on 259th Place in Harbor City, CA. Debby and I became fast, forever best friends, and I had the pleasure of growing up with Barney and Wanda. I was always over their home spending the night or eating dinner with them.  They were like a second Dad and Mom to me growing up. 
Barney was always such a nice man and always so kind to me.  I could see, even as a young child, how much he loved his family and how he was a very hard worker, always providing them with everything they needed.  He also showed affection and love for them all.  I could also see how much in love he was with his Wanda.  They were a wonderful couple. And in turn, raised a wonderful family. 
My last memory of seeing Barney was when he asked my Mom to dance at her 80th Birthday Party.  Oh how happy they looked as they  danced together and he whirled my Mom around the dance floor!  It was so amazing and fun to watch!  
Barney, you will be remembered by me as a kind, decent, loving man and you will be sorely missed. 
My thoughts and prayers are with my Debby, and all the family, as they grieve the loss of their beloved Daddy and Husband.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time of sorrow with the passing of your father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather.  My prayer is that our FATHER GOD will comfort you, bless you with the peace that passes all understanding, and that you will feel HIS loving arms holding you tightly.

Uncle Hansford was always the most calm and the nicest man to spend time with. He put you at ease and so loved his home in California that when he visited us in Arkansas made us all want to move there. His outlook on life was hopeful to us all, and you would have thought he was a millionaire the way he talked about how wonderful things were; you know he was a millionaire because he had awesome wife awesome kids. We all look forward to the visits and always wished for more as we all will do at some point in our lives. There were many miles between us and visits became less and less, but when you have family, the miles you aren’t even aware of. To aunt Wanda, I love you so much and you are the warmest and most loving person, very matter of fact, but in love, always. To all the cousins, we’ve all grown up now and have families of our own and it would’ve been awesome to be near each other, but the distance doesn’t take away family. These next days are going to be very hard and crushing, but just know you will see him again and that he loved you with everything that he was. Uncle Hanford much love.

My passion for motorcycles came from my Grandpa. We enjoyed talking bikes whenever I’d see him. Gonna miss that but I’ll keep our passion going.

Had the best time visiting Grandma and Grandpa whiskers!! Hanging with auntie Kim and Uncle Joe and miss maeve!

I remember watching Hawaii 50 x files and jeopardy on the chair with you Gramps RIP love you man

Dear Dad,
No words could ever express how much I miss you
You were always there for me without judgment so full of nothing but love.

Barney was like a father to me. I remember he used to bug mom for a motorcycle and he finally got one. He was one of the good guy's he was always their for me if I needed  help. He will diffenitly be missed but never forgotten. I love you dad rest easy. Lisa
