

A talented ceramist, dedicated gardener, and respected plant superintendent, he was known for his remarkable attention to detail and strong work ethic. Throughout his life, he took great pride in his craftsmanship, carefully maintaining books of paint formulas and applying his artistic talents to every project he undertook. His favorite color, green, reflected his deep appreciation for nature and beauty.
He was an active member of the Sun City Garden Club and the Tai chi Club hobby, where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge, friendships, and enthusiasm with others. Proud of his Portuguese heritage, he carried his roots close to his heart and passed on those values of hard work, family, and perseverance to future generations.
Above all else, he was a loving family man. A hardworking provider, he devoted himself to caring for those he loved. He shared a beautiful marriage of more than 68 years with his beloved wife, Patricia, whose partnership and companionship were among his life’s greatest blessings.
His legacy lives on through his five children, + Teresa Sellan, + Jerry Costa, Thomas Costa, Catherine Marshall, Jeanette Narciso, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. Joseph preceded by death by his brother Franklin Costa.The family he cherished, and all those whose lives were enriched by his kindness, creativity, wisdom, and determination. He will be remembered for his artistic spirit, generous heart, vast knowledge unwavering commitment to family, and the example he set through a life well lived.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
