The family of Margaret Marie Pearce are sad to announce her passing on October 3, 2022 at home in Murrieta, California. Marie was surrounded by her immediate family at the time of her passing, a tribute to the love and commitment she shared with all of those present.
Marie was born in Washington, Pennsylvania on December 7, 1923, the third child of Adolph Edward Deichler and Margaret (Allen) Deichler. She spent her early years with her family in Masury, Ohio. During a trip to the local skating rink, she was introduced to the love of her life James (Jim) Edward Pearce by her future brother-in-law Charles (Chuck) Pearce. At the onset of the war, Jim’s unit was assigned to Maxwell Airfield in Montgomery, Alabama, where Marie joined Jim to seal their love and married on July 25, 1942. Their first child Judy was born in 1944 while Jim was overseas. Marie and Jim added James to the family in 1946, and in 1947 the family moved west to California so Jim could attend college at University of Southern California (USC). Marie and Jim then added William, John and Joanyn to their family.
After moving to California, Marie worked for Western Union, United Airlines and retired from Western Airlines to help Jim with his law practices. The family settled in several cities during this time, including Compton, Whittier, Cerritos, Nuevo and Murrieta. Marie loved to travel with family and friends. She traveled the globe with adventures to Ireland, Africa, Australia, Europe Russia and the many domestic trips discovering their ancestry. Marie lost Jim in 2011 after nearly 69 years of marriage but still led an active life until her passing at 98. Marie leaves behind her sons, William (and Dawneen) Pearce of Yorba Linda, CA; John (and Lyn) Pearce of Lake Elsinore, CA; and daughter, Joanyn (and Kevin Miller) of Murrieta, CA. She also leaves 7 grandchildren: Derek, Carin, Shawn, Jamie, Megan, Ryan and Haley. Marie is preceded in death by her husband Judge James Edward Pearce, two oldest children, Judy Marie Kelly and James Edward Pearce Jr, her parents, Adolph and Margaret Deichler, brothers, Charles Deichler, Robert Deichler, Ronald Deichler and sisters, Dorothy Riggs and Nancy Yereb.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25 at Riverside National Cemetery.
