Pastor Paul passed peacefully into the realms of glory which he called “home” all of his life. His homegoing began at 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026. His wife, Ruth and step-sons Tyler and Michael (Corky) attending him.
Paul was born in Kingman, Kansas on July 10th, 1939 to Ozella and David Vogler. His father was an Assembly of God Pastor and moved frequently to multiple states. Paul often recited every state he lived in.
Paul is survived by his wife Ruth, step-sons Tyler, Michael and Randy, his son Paul Donovan, step daughter Gayle and son-in-law Tim VanVleck. Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Donovan.
Paul was so proud of his grandfather, Fred Vogler, who was the first ordained minister in the Assemblies of God and the first Superintendent of the General Council. He followed in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps and became an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God. Three generations of ministers.
Paul was passionate about memorizing scriptures and would recite multiple chapters including the Easter Story. He also loved to sing the hymns and claimed to know more hymns than anyone. He had a distinctive voice in that he didn’t need a microphone.
When Paul was younger he was a hunter and bragged about a bear he killed with a bow and arrow and many elk, having bear skin rugs and elk head to prove it.
Over his ministry of 50 years Paul served as pastor to churches in Montana and California. He concluded his ministry with 23 years as pastor to Romoland Assembly of God. He retired Dec. 31, 2021.
He will be missed, this prayer warrior, who never sought fame or fortune but only to lead people to Jesus.
