October 26, 1950 – January 4, 2026
Teri Lynn Sparks passed away peacefully at home, on January 4, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on October 26, 1950, in Burbank, California, she was the beloved daughter of George Robert Sparks II and Bonnie Eileen Shute. She was preceded in death by her siblings Beverly Durtsche, Rick Sparks, and Bobby Sparks, each of whom she held close in her heart throughout her life.
Teri spent her younger childhood in Southern California and attended high school in Porterville as her family relocated to the Central Valley. She resided in Fresno and Morro Bay/Los Osos for a few years before returning to Porterville to be closer to family, friends, and a community that cherished her. She eventually moved to Menifee, where she spent her later years enjoying the kitchen of her dreams and beautiful weather that was perfect for growing tomatoes that her grandkids would eat almost as fast as they grew.
For a memorable chapter of her life, Teri was known far and wide as “The Cinnamon Roll Lady,” a title earned through her beloved baking. Her warm spirit and unmatched baked goods made her a treasure to those who knew her. Beyond the kitchen, Teri expressed her creativity through painting, sewing, and doing crafts.
Teri was strong in her Christian faith and an active, devoted member of Hillside Community Church while she was in Porterville. She had compassion for animals and loved spoiling fur-babies. She enjoyed get-togethers with friends, playing cards, sharing laughter, fellowship, and the simple pleasure of time spent together.
Above all, Teri was devoted to being a good grandmother—loving, generous, and endlessly proud of her family. She is survived by her daughters Lori Miller and Theresa Watson; her grandchildren Tyler Watson, Austin Miller, Abigail Miller, Barley (Coral) Gardner, Jacob Gardner, and Miley Watson; and her great grandson Benjamin Watson, who brought her immense joy.
Teri’s life was defined by kindness, creativity, faith, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she preserved, the memories she created, and the generations she nurtured. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A service will be coordinated and held in Porterville for those wishing to pay respects. Location and date still to be determined.
