She graduated from State University of New York at Oswego with a Bachelors of Arts degree in 1951. She then married Anthony Ingrassi Sr. on February 23rd 1952. To This union Darlene Lea, Valerie Ann, Wendy Renee’ and Anthony Salvatore Ingrassi were born.
Yolanda also known as Lola; there is an old song, “Whatever Lola Wants Lola Gets.” Lola, herself, has always said this is not true. However, Lola wanted a husband and she got one. Tony was a wonderful husband, father and Grandfather. She wanted a family and to be a good parent. Again, she got that- four children and they all became adults. She too was wonderful as a wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She always wanted to go on a cruise and she got that 2 times-Alaska and Hawaii. She always wanted to be a really good teacher. She certainly got that. She taught Kindergarten in New York and California for 38 years and parents in the last school had tears when they found out their next child will not have her as a kindergarten teacher (retired 1990).
Dancing was a passion for both Lola and Tony up until 1984. Other passions included attending Classes to become Ministers with a certificate of License titled Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They both provided Marriage counseling sessions for members of their church. Yolanda also enjoyed Attending Bible studies. One study she attended for years was Bible Study Fellowship where she attended classes weekly face to face and online during COVID-19.
In the last 15 years she hosted prayer groups. She enjoyed praying for every request given to her and prayer group. In fact, prayer group was the last favorite activity she participated in before going home to the lord. On December 22, 2022 she received the best early Christmas gift. She went home to Jesus (Psalms 139:16 All a man’s days are written in My book). She also met her husband (Tony), her brother (Tony), her sister (Blanche), brother-in-law (Joseph) two Daughters (Darlene and Valerie) and grandson (Christopher) whom all preceded her in death.
