John E Cawley

Passed away peacefully at home Saturday, July 13, 2013, at age 88. Loving husband of Eileen (Nee Wolff) for 53 years. Dear father of Janice (Larry) Stevens, John (Donna) Cawley, Mary (Bill) Truebenbach, Michelle (Jeff) Haas, the late Michael Cawley and Thomas (Fiancé Mary Ann Potestades) Cawley. Proud grandfather of Joanna and Daniel Stevens; Amye, Stephane, Robyn and Kady Cawley; and Kelly Haas. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John served in the Army as a motorpool mechanic from 1943 to 1945 in the South Pacific. In 1953, with the backing of his mother, he opened and operated Jay's Standard Service on 12th & Clybourn Street in Milwaukee and eventually moved his service station to the corner of 76th & Good Hope until 1978. He then worked as a mechanic at Farkas Automotive in Milwaukee for 30 years and retired in 2008.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 19, at the FUNERAL HOME.

Visitation from 4 PM until the time of Service, 7 PM. John will be laid to

rest on Saturday, July 20, at 10 AM at Sunnyside Cemetery-Lannon, WI.
