Alice H. Favier

May 15, 1923-November 10, 2011

Alice Favier passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital on Thursday, November 10, 2011 with family members present. Alice was born in Sweetwater Tennessee on May 15, 1923 the eldest of three children born to Margaret and Harry Harrington. The Harrington’s moved to Merced when Alice was a child and she lived in Merced until her recent passing.

Alice was an active member of the McSwain Community for nearly fifty years.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Jim and her brother Richard Harrington.

She is survived by her son Henry Favier, Jr. and his wife Kim of Dixon, California; her daughter Amy Sloan, Amy’s husband Jim and their sons Jack and Thomas of Santa Barbara, California; her sister and brother-in-law Jean & Bill Locker of Florida. Locally Alice is survived by her stepson James Favier, his wife Tjode and their family; her stepdaughter Joanne Marchini, Joanne’s husband Domenico and their family.

Her children wish to thank all the family, friends, neighbors and caregivers who have contributed to Alice’s care and well being over the past year.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Sansum Diabetes Research Institute at 2219 Bath Street Santa Barbara, California 93105. A memorial luncheon will be held on December 10, 2011 for friends and family at The Branding Iron Restaurant from 12:00-3:00 after a private internment.
