

after having suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm. His family and friends are shocked and deeply
saddened by this sudden and unexpected loss.
He was born in Michoacan, Mexico, on August 24th, 1997. Andres was raised in Merced,
California, and graduated from Merced High School in 2015.
Andres moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to attend Cardinal Stritch University and graduated
Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design in 2019. After
graduating, he became an art specialist at the Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish
Community Center of Milwaukee.
Andres was an active community member both in Merced and Milwaukee. During his time at
Merced High School, Andres was a dedicated member of the football team and track team. He
was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Church youth group, during which he participated in
a number of church plays, activities, and projects.
During his time in Cardinal Stritch, Andres was awarded an athletic scholarship and joined the
track team. He participated in a number of school plays and completed a senior art project.
Andres was a young working artist who was eager to learn, spread kindness, and encourage
creativity wherever he went. He was a kind soul, a brilliant artist, an incredible teacher, a trusting
friend, and he left his mark on the world at a young age. He filled every room with a bright smile
and joyful laugh.
He is survived by his parents Andres Hernandez and Carmela Figueroa, his brother Alexis
Hernandez-Figueroa, and his sister Yadira Hernandez-Figueroa.
A funeral visitation service will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home on Tuesday,
March 15th, 2022, from 2 pm to 8 pm, with a rosary prayer at 6 pm. A funeral mass will be held
at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022, at Sacred Heart Church in Merced. Interment
will follow at Merced Cemetery District.
