Arthur Hayes Jr was born on July 30, 1926 in Dermott, AK and passed away on February 8, 2012 in Modesto, CA at the age of 86.

Arthur previously lived in Farmington, CA for 37 years and then spent the last 20 years of his life in Merced, CA. He joined the US Army and then afterwards he worked for 63 years as a Foreman for Cook Land and Cattle Company.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, traveling to different places, and loved his work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Georgia Hayes; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; and his grandparents.

Arthur is survived by his children, Arthur Hayes III of Atwater, CA; Timothy W Hayes of Philadelphia, PA; and Jefery A Hayes of Thomaston, CT; Aretta J Moten of Stockton, CA; and Beverly D Hayes-Ary of Sacramento, CA.; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Services will be at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Merced District Cemetery.
