Aurora A. Medina

Aurora was born to Gregory and Juanita Alvarez Castelo on September 6, 1934 in Fortstockton, Texas.

Aurora Medina was a long time resident of Merced County. Aurora passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded with her loved ones on July 26, 2011. She was a lifelong Christian who was known by many and loved by all. Many referred to her as “mommy”. She was always there to help anyone in need, she always wanted to pray for everyone, and she wanted her family and friends always to be happy. She is resting now and is with the Lord. Thank you Jesus for freeing “mommy” we will miss her.

“Mommy” is survived by one sister, Ofelia Gonzalez; five children, twins Elia Coronado and Delia Soto (Chiquita), Diana Soto Inzunza, Antonio Soto and Juana Arellano; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She also leaves behind her dear friend, Angelina Torres.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
