Ciro J. Scarciolla

December 30, 1931 – May 22, 2011

Ciro was born on December 30, 1931 in Merced to Nick and Raffaela Scarciolla. He passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving caregivers.

Ciro attended local schools and was a graduate of Livingston High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged after serving for 4 years. After the military he began his career in farming and grew sweet potatoes and almonds on his farm in Livingston. He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed airplanes. He was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Livingston, AARP, and the Merced County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his two sisters, Rosie Rocha and Mary Petroni both of Merced and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Raffaela Scarciolla; Sister Helen Scarciolla; Brother Joseph Scarciolla

The family would like to send a special thank you to Ciro’s five wonderful caregivers, Marylou, Maria, Dottie, Beatriz and Lydia, Amie Marchini of Mission Gardens and Hinds Hospice for their loving care they provided.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with the Rosary beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 330 Franci Street, Livingston, California. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
