Daniel Edward Hanson

Daniel “Danny” Edward Hanson passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2017. He was 86 years old and a retiree of the Merced City School District. He is preceded in death by his Father (John Hanson), Mother (Lucy Hanson), brothers: Wilfred “Bill” Hanson, Walter Hanson, John Kenneth “Boogie” Hanson; sisters: Lola Harris, Myrtle Williams, Lue Verna Gordon; sisters-in-law: Girlene Hanson, Edna Mae Hanson, Mittie Hanson and Patricia Hanson; brothers-in-law: Morgan Morris, Toncy Williams and Eddie Gordon. Danny leaves to cherish his most humorous, delightful and inspiring memory his wife of 57 years, Ida Lee (Reid) Hanson and their 7 children: Joyce (Jamal), Arthur (Karen), Joe (Janie), Jacquelyn (Douglas), JaLaunda, Sharyl (Patrick) and Jonathan (Arleaka). Sisters: Josephine Morris, Hazel Warren (Solomon), Lena Thompson (Reuben); his youngest brother James “Jimmie” Hanson and brother-in-law James Harris. 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. On Saturday, September 9, 2017 there will be a public viewing held at Strafford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street Merced, California 95341 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a Memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. at New Faith Tabernacle Christian Church, 208 East 10th Street Merced, California.
