January 20, 1974 – December 5, 2024
We are saddened to announce that Daniel Padron, 50, of Davis, California, passed away suddenly on Thursday evening, December 5, 2024, in Sacramento, California.
Daniel was born in Merced and attended schools in Merced including Our Lady of Mercy School, Hoover Junior High School and Merced High School.
Daniel Padron was truly a devoted son, brother and friend. Born in Merced, California, to parents, Jimmy and Anna Padron, he was devoted to caring for his parents well being. Daniel lived in Davis, California, choosing to live there after graduating from UC Davis.
He was the beloved brother to Adrian Padron of Merced, California. Daniel provided emotional support and encouragement to his brother Adrian while he was attending graduate school to achieve his doctorate degree in Nashville, Tennessee.
Daniel loved his job working at UC Davis for international scholars and students at SISS (Services for International Scholars and Students). He was most content working out solutions to complex immigration visa law policies and procedures and finding an avenue for scholars from all over the world to enter the US with the purpose of studying at UC Davis. He spent almost two decades doing just that.
Daniel was described as “extraordinary and invaluable member of the SISS team with an unwavering dedication, commitment, kindness and compassion to others…”
His co-workers deeply appreciated him for his integrity, humor and insight. He was a positive role model for those around him.
Daniel was active in his life and participated in several running groups in Davis and Sacramento. He achieved one of his life goals of running and finishing in a triathlon that he completed in October of this year in Santa Rosa, California. He loved swimming, running and bicycling.
Daniel was an avid reader and a part-time student throughout his life even after he obtained his bachelor’s degree at UCD. He was preparing for his second career at the time of his passing. He had plans to become a counselor to help those in need. Remember Daniel with a smile as he loved and touched so many in his life.
