Danny Marcus Hernandez

August 29, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on June 24, 1956, in Merced, Danny was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around him. He was passionate about three things: his family, painting, and San Francisco Giants baseball. Whether sharing stories around the table or discussing the latest Giants game, Danny always made time for connection and conversation.

Danny graduated from Merced High School in 1975. A skilled painter by trade, Danny dedicated over 40 years to his craft, leaving his mark across Merced County and throughout California. He began his career working with private contractors before finding a lasting home with the Merced Union High School District, where he retired after 17 years of service.

Danny is survived by his children: Danielle, Sebastian, and Atanascio (Andrea); and their mother, Debra Hutchins, who remained a steadfast presence in his life. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Guadalupe, Camille, Mila, and great-granddaughter Aubriella. He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Emily and Daniel, and his brother, Jerry Hernandez.

Danny’s legacy lives on in the vibrant colors he brought to the world, the love he gave so freely,

and the memories held close by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans

Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, California.
