David was a lifelong resident of Merced and worked as a Landscaper for 20 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Thompson and grandmother, Ramona Lira.
He is survived by his daughter, Elisabeth Mercado; brothers, Mario Mercado; sisters, Dominique Ayala, Angel Santiuste, Chantage Ortega, Salena Cervantes, Amy Mercado, and Mia Mercado; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be private.
