Debra Jean Strubar, 76, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. Born on October 27, 1949, Debra lived most of her life in Merced, where she built a life filled with love, perseverance, and quiet strength.
She studied nursing at Fresno State and went on to have a varied and accomplished career, working with the FBI, the Atwater Police Department, several finance companies, and the U.S. Census Bureau. Debra was admired for her kindness, loyalty, and steady dedication throughout her life.
Debra loved knitting, reading, spending time with her family and friends, and taking trips to the casino, which always brought her joy. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her comforting presence, and the warmth she shared with those around her.
Debra is survived by her son, Clark Jacob Strubar, the light of her life; her sisters, Susan Nannini and Lynn Sherman; and her many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Joe and Irene Mello, and her brothers, Joseph Mello and Greg Mello.
A Graveside Service will be held on December 16 at 10 a.m. At Calvary Cemetery-260 W Childs Ave, Merced, CA 95341.
