Derald Dewayne Caery Sr. of Merced, CA died Friday, May 18, 2012 in Ola, ARK at the age of 42.

He was a good husband, great father, uncle, and was also known as the family protector. He was employed at Tyson Foods in Dardanelle, ARK.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Caery Sr.; son, Tavian Caery; grandfather, Dave Graham Sr.; and stepfather, Robert Dean Anderson.

Derald is survived by his wife, Dorothy Caery of Ola, ARK; mother and her husband, Jessie and George Thompson of New Orleans, LA; 5 sons, Derald Jr., Otis II, Devin, Jordan, and Matthias; grandmother, Neomia Graham of Merced, CA; sisters, Tanisha Anderson of Merced and Cleopatra Thompson-Eubanks of New Orleans, LA; brother, Robert Anderson who is currently serving in Afghanistan; 2 nieces, Jahnessa and Jayla; 4 nephews, Aiden, Zachary, Noah Anderson, and Ayden Eubanks; and goddaughter, Kristyn Sabala. He will be truly missed by his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on June 2, 2012 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA with a reception to follow at 1:00pm at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home reception hall.
