Edward Dale Smith

Ed was born on September 7, 1961 to Duane Winfred Smith and Kathryn Smith, née Cochran in Baldwin Park, CA. Later the family moved to Snelling, CA, where Ed spent the rest of his childhood.

In 1978, Ed met Denise in Snelling and spent the next 46 years side by side. Ed and Denise raised four children: Casey, Michael, Kelli, and Alyssa.

In 2019, Ed retired as a construction superintendent after a four-decade career. He then spent his time woodworking, gardening, playing guitar, and enjoying music — though his favorite pastime was being a loving Opa to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Smith; his children and their partners, Casey and Dana Smith, Michael and Devin Smith, Kelli Smith and Lani Todd, and Alyssa Smith and Jeremy Lee; his grandchildren, Conner, Lily, Amelia, Lincoln, Sawyer, and Charlotte; as well as many other family members, including his siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Our hearts are broken, but his is whole again. If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 2 at noon at Henderson Park in Snelling, CA.
