Guadalupe Prieto Alarcon

Guadalupe Prieto Alarcon was born to Maria Casares and Pedro Prieto on October 5, 1930 in Texas and passed away on June 7, 2016 at the age of 85 in Planada, California where she was a resident for 50 years.

Guadalupe worked in public education as a teacher for over 25 years. She enjoyed testing her luck going to the casinos with family. But above all else, there was not a thing in this world that Guadalupe loved more than spending time with her family and grandkids.

Guadalupe is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Prieto and Maria Casares; husband, Eusebio Alarcon; son Eusebio Alarcon Jr and her grandson, Jesus “Chuey” Alarcon.

She is survived by her sons, Ernesto P. Alarcon of Turlock, Ramon and Manuel Alarcon of Merced, Juan (Mary Beth) Alarcon of Missouri and David (Lucia) Alarcon of Planada; daughters, Maria Riley of Merced, Teresa Alarcon of Manteca, Paublita (Kregg) Hamilton of Merced, Diane (James) Contreras of Porterville, Linda (Robin) and Margarita Alarcon of Merced; 39 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 2:00PM-5:00PM at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street in Merced. A vigil service with rosary will be held on Monday, June, 13, 2016 at 7:00PM at Sacred Heart Church located at 9317 Amistat Street in Planada. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Church in Planada with burial to follow at Plainsburg Cemetery located at 8943 Gillette Ave in Merced.
