

Isabel Anguita Vigil was born on December 6, 1931, in Granada, Spain to José Anguita Guerrero and Manuela Sanchez Alcalde. She was a resident of Merced for forty-seven years. She was a woman of great faith who was dedicated to her family and home. She retired as a talented seamstress designing and sewing clothing for more than fifty years. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Isabel was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Merced, California.
Isabel is survived by her five children: Diane Shaw, Victor Vigil, Ralph Vigil, Mike Vigil, and Monique McAllister along with eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Isabel has two younger sisters, Manoli Avendano and Encarnacion Anguita in Spain. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Jose Vigil; her parents, brother, Miguel Anguita; and sister, Carmen Petit.
Services will be held for Isabel at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Merced, California on Friday, January 12, 2024, starting with the rosary at 10:30 a.m. and the mass at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be on January 12, 2024 p.m. at 1:30 p.m at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
