

Jerry was a life long resident of Planada. He graduated from Le Grand High, class of 1965. To this day Jerry still holds the record for the 100 yard dash. He was also a running back for the Le Grand Bulldogs. Shortly after graduating he was drafted into the Army. While serving in Vietnam he was a member of the 1st Calvary Division. During his service he was injured in combat and honorably discharged. Jerry was a painting contractor for over 30 years but his real passion was bass fishing. He was a competitive Pro Bass Fisherman. Jerry competed and won numerous tournaments throughout California. Making several friends along the way. He served as a Deacon for Community of Christ Church in Modesto.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gus and Nina Watts of Planada.
Jerry leaves his high school sweetheart and wifeof 49 years Janice Watts; son, Jimi Watts (Candy); sister, Lola Mitchell (Jim); nephews, Gerry and
Duane Mitchell. He leaves many close friends near and dear to him. Jerry will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on September 18, 2015
from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, California.
