Joe (Garcia) Rosa was a native of Faial, Azores for 41 years. In 1967, Joe and his wife Anna, along with their four children moved to the United States for a better life. They moved to Dos Palos where they lived for 13 years. In 1980 they moved to Merced where they lived the rest of their lives.
Joe worked as a farmer most of his life and enjoyed taking care of his animals at home. He loved his family and the life he and his wife provided for their children. He would fill up with pride with every new addition to his growing family, as he shared his story. He loved to tell jokes to everyone and sing songs with his grandchildren. He enjoyed meeting with close friends where he joked and spoke proudly of his family. Joe had a deep Catholic faith, which he and his wife passed on to their children. He had the ability to put a smile on anyone’s face. He was a blessing and will be missed dearly.
