Jose Luis Garcia Martinez was born June 22, 1936 in Mexico and passed away December 5, 2014 in Merced, California at the age of 78 years. Jose lived in Mexico for many years and worked as a Post Man for twenty years. He relocated to California and lived in Merced County for 25 years. He worked for Keller Industries in Merced for many years. Jose was also a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and served as a Sacristant. He was a kind, loving, generous, humble, friendly, helpful, and cheerful man. He will be greatly missed.
Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Garcia of Merced; children, Jose Luis Garcia of Livingston, Luis Manuel Garcia of Merced, Guadalupe Sanchez of Merced, and Rosa Maria Vega of Merced; brothers, Esperanza Garcia, Salvador Garcia, and Miguel Garcia; and by 14 grandchildren adn 10 great grandchildren.
A visitation was held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with the Recitation of The Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.
