Mrs. Lorraine Dorothy Welch of Merced, California was born March 27, 1932 to her parents Mary and Manuel Cotta. Lorraine passed away at the age of 92 on July 11, 2024. She was an Insurance Policy Rater at Farmers Insurance for 25 years. Lorraine was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Merced, California.
She is survived by her daughter Diane Brum (Atwater, CA); son Randy (Dabby) Fontes (Merced, CA); grandsons David (Amanda) Brum (Mariposa, CA) and Daniel (Shelly) Fontes (Arnold); granddaughters Michelle Mann (Atwater, CA) and Laura (Brandon) Ruscoe (Merced, CA); eight great grandchildren Aelah Brum, Sofia Brum, Evan Mann, Ethan Mann, Emma Mann, Katherine Ruscoe, Samantha Ruscoe and Garrison Fontes; sisters Irene Miranda (Dos Palos, CA) and Sharon Slown (Merced, CA) and eight nieces and nephews.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband Joseph R. Welch; parents Mary and Manuel Cotta; sister Angie Cotta-Moore; Son-in-law Roger Brum and great-grandson Ryan Joseph Mann.
