Marilyn Adele Wallace

September 9, 1927-January 3, 2012

Marilyn was born on September 9, 1927 to Lila and William Burch in Los Banos, CA and passed away in Merced, CA on January 3, 2012 at the age of 84.

In 1944 she was the Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters Bethel #65. She graduated from Merced High in 1945. In 1947 she obtained her AA Degree from UC Berkeley. Marilyn was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and became first president of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Eta Mu Chapter. She was also a Girl Scout leader. Marilyn retired after 27 years from Farmers Insurance Group where she worked in the customer service of the commercial division. She loved working in her yard and playing bridge with her friends, but considered her biggest accomplishment to be her family. She was very proud of each one and cherished her time with them.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Earle Wallace and her parents, William and Lila Burch.

She is survived by her daughters, Jane Jones and husband Fred, Sally Hughes and husband Michael, son; Richard Wallace and wife Frances, brother; Bill Burch, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Masonic Center, 1810 M St., Merced, CA.
