Marion Elaine Glasow West began her life on Earth on April 9, 1942 in Pascoe, Washington. She spent the next five years in Kennewick, Washington, then moved to California with her parents and settled in Livingston. There, she attended school and met the love of her life, Hershel West, in 1956 and married him in 1959 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
She graduated from Livingston High School and then made her home in Merced, California. She and Hershel were blessed with three children and she enjoyed being a homemaker and working with her parents at Glasow's Jewelry. She and Hershel bought the business in 1980 and operated it until they retired in 2000.
She was active in her church, St. Paul Lutheran Church, until her illness began in 2017. She was also active in the Merced Police Wives Association and Livingston Kiwanas. She was a group leader for her children's Camp Fire Girls and 4-H groups. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and cruising with friends and family. She and Hershel celebrated their 50th, 55th, and 60th anniversaries on Alaskan Cruises with their family and they would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary in June of 2022.
Her parents, Melvin and Leila Glasow, and her grandson, Andrew Newton, preceded her to Heaven. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Hershel West, her children, Teri (David) Frankiewich, Brenda (Ken) Licciardello, and Jeffery (Dee Dee Cochran) West, her 9 grandchildren and their spouses, 9 great grandchildren, and her sisters, Arleen Marques and Judy (Rocke) Oates.
