Matthew Grant Owens Rabe

Matthew Grant Owens Rabe was born on June 13, 1991, to his parents Connie F. Owens and Jeffrey D. Rabe, in Merced, California. Matthew was a resident of Merced for 30 years and passed away on May 3, 2022 in Merced, California. He was a member of the Christian Life Center Church in Merced, California.

Matthew was an active duty member of the United States Naval Service assigned to Naval Air Station Lemoore, California as an Aviation Structural Mechanic First Class. He also volunteered for a few organizations such as, Castle Veterans Organization (CVO) Atwater Ca, DAV Chapter 31 Atwater/Merced, California, Merced Sunrise Rotary, Field of Honor, Run for The Fallen and Mayor Matthew Serratto's Loughborough Drive Clean up Area.

Matthew is survived by his wife Destinee Ann Gutierrez-Rabe; parents, Connie F. Owens, Jeffrey D. Rabe, Mother-in-law Elizabeth M. Gutierrez (deceased); Aunt Bonnie R. Owens, Brother Nathan R. Ellis and Sister Kali M. Avila, Brother-in-laws Chance E. Gutierrez and Jesse D. Garza, Sister-in-laws Maria Gutierrez and Devina J. Garza. Nieces Juaqlyne A. Garza and Anjoleena E. Garza, Godparents Beverly A. Scroggins (Leon deceased), and Linda Swayzer. Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Clarence and Lucille Owens, maternal aunts and uncles. Donald and Myrtle Smith, Christopher Owens, and Stephen Owens. He is survived by his maternal aunts and uncle, Cynthia Smith of Poughkeepsie, New York, Stephanie K. Owens of City Kansas, Ernestine Owens of Kansas City, Kansas and Marshall Owens (Angela) of Wichita, Kansas. He also leaves to mourn a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
