Opal Maxine Ashley

Opal Maxine Ashley was born on October 1, 1932 and passed away on May 23, 2017, at the age of 84 in Merced California where she was a resident of 7 years. She had previously lived in Perris California for 45 years.

Opal was a retired CNA. She had worked in this position for many years. She loved her family wholeheartedly. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Ruby Cooper, husband Vergil Ashley, brother Marvin Cooper, sisters Inez Lindly, Coleen Tusing, Corrine Grissom, Lorene Haygood, daughters Wanda Scheer, Nora Tabor and son Ronald Rapert.

She is survived by her daughter Georgia Burmingham, sisters Helen Walker and Tommie Ilg, grandchildren Janet Gomes, Tonya Rivas, Rhonda Tabor, Joy Scheerfry, Sandra Swain, Jeremy Gomes, Ronald Rapert Jr., Mary Casteneda along with 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 3:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B. Street, Merced California 95341. Funeral service will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 1:00pm at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home with burial following at Plainsburg Cemetery located at 87943 Gillette Ave, Le Grand California 95333.Arrangements under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, Merced, CA.
