Pamela Marie Farmer White

She passed peacefully on September 13, 2023 with her son and caregiver by her side. She was 77 years old.

A lifelong resident of CA, she spent most of her life in Merced and worked for 37 years for Merced College. She started her career working the switchboard, advanced to Veteran’s Affairs, Financial Aid and finally the Admissions and Records Department from which she retired. Pam positively touched many lives in her time at the college.

Pam was also active in her community serving as a Poll Worker for many years and with her church community most recently Greater New Hope Church, Potters Place and St. Matthews.

Preceding her in death were her parents Otto and Lucy Farmer, her siblings Sam Farmer and Penny Hoyt, her former husband Karl White and her niece Leann Farmer.

She is survived by her son Matthew White of Sacramento CA, her four grandchildren Jamie, Jessica, Rebekah and Erin and five great grandchildren of TX. Also her sister in law, Lois Farmer and her nieces and nephews, Tammy Kalinowski of CA, Jeff Hoyt of UT, Luci Dance of FL, Aaron Hoyt of CA, Amy Bassett of TX and Sami Thai of Merced CA. She also has two stepchildren Kirsten Martin of Merced CA and Bruce MacDiarmid of HI.

We want to thank the staff of Franciscan Healthcare Center and Hinds Hospice for the excellent care that Pam received. Pam will be loved and missed by so many whose lives she touched and left a permanent mark.

Services will be held on September 22, 2023 at 11 am at the Stratford Evans Funeral Home at 1490 B Street Merced CA.
