Pops was a maintenance worker at Wellmade Factory for 15 years. He also enjoyed going to La Hacienda 1, where the owner, management, workers and patrons had all became a large part of his life.
He leaves behind his children in spirit, Donna Hopes and Sherleen Stoney; sisters and brothers, Janice Benson, Andrew “Buddy” Wheeler, Janet Spires and Juanita Wheeler; his brother from another mother, Walter “Wally” Williams; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 4:00pm-7:00pm with Recitation of Rosary to follow at 7:00pm. On Tuesday, July 9, 2013 Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 671 E. Yosemite Ave, Merced, CA with burial to follow at Merced District Cemetery.
