
Phil, in his younger years, was a charismatic and rebellious child. This led him to live an adventurous life to racing cars and riding motorcycles. At 20 years old he met the love of his life, Candy Rae. He spent the next years of his life in Southern California married to Rae, raising his 2 daughters and customizing show cars. In 1980 he moved to Merced ready for a quieter lifestyle. In Merced he worked for and later retired from BMC west garage door shop. Once retired, Phil and the love of his life traveled and enjoyed many days walking on the beach together. Phil will always be remembered as a fun loving guy who loved to play jokes on people. His infectious smile will be missed.
Phil is preceded in death by his wife Rae King, son Jo Jo King, father Harold King and his brother James King.
He is survived by his daughters Lisa Longnecker (Randy) and Tina Ivy (Rod) as well as his mother Frances Thomas and grandchildren Nicole Harris (David), Matthew Fullerton, Cameron Ivy and Cade Ivy. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren Jordan Harris, Devin Harris, Mya Harris and Mason Harris.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 BArrangements under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, Merced, CA.
