Quietus Avon Robinson

Nita was born July 8, 1947 in Merced, California to Arthur and Edwina Slaton. Nita was born into a large family with 2 brothers and 5 sisters, she was the 5th sibling. At the age of 17 Nita started her family and later married Robert Robinson who preceded her in death. Nita worked various jobs but her passion was working with children. She worked for Oakland public schools until she resigned years later. She moved to Stockton, California in 1998 where she worked for CSD. Nita retired at the age of 65, to start enjoying the next chapter in her life. She enjoyed watching any kind of sport; you name it she watched it. She just recently started working her on her puzzles again and she loved playing dominoes. Nita liked taking care of her family. She always had someone coming to visit her just because she was easy to talk to and didn’t judge you.

Nita was loved by everyone. She was first of all and foremost a mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always available day or night if you just wanted to talk or cry or needed some advice. She welcomed anyone who needed help with open arms and would give her last dollar to anyone who needed it. She was loving and caring and had the biggest heart. If you had no where to stay she would take you in and treat you just like one of her own. Nita was considered a second mom to a lot of people. She always had a smile on her face and greeted you with one.

Nita you will be missed and no one can replace you. You were our angel on earth your beautiful smile. Every life you touched, you touched in a special way. You had a heart of gold. We love you and you

will never be forgotten.

Nita is survived by her children, daughter, Stephanie Jones of Fresno, California; daughter, Shantell Robinson of Stockton, California; son, Robert Robinson Jr. of Stockton, California; daughter-in-law, Soutsada Robinson of Stockton, California, her grandchildren, Berthee Thornton III, Brady Thornton, Robert Robinson III, Breanna Robinson, Roheem Robinson,Reajean Robinson, Remari Robinson, Rocco Robinson, Romeo Robinson, and great grandchildren Jariya Robinson, Armonie Robinson, Ariana Robinson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street Merced, CA. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Merced, California.
