

Robert Dean Kreischer of Charlotte, MI, retired Air Force Master Sargent, passed away at the age of 73 on January 27, 2018 in Lansing, MI. He was born on June 22, 1944 to James and Lorene (Snodderly) Kreischer in Knoxville, TN. After graduation in 1963, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he remained for 22 ½ years. Robert worked on many aircrafts, mainly the B-52 and served in Vietnam before retiring on December 31, 1985.
He fell in love with Evelyn Sue Wright in 1962 later becoming engaged only to have them mutually call off the engagement. Robert later married Mary Kathleen Mullen in 1966 and together they raised a daughter, Katharine. He attended a 45th class reunion in 2008 where he once again met Evelyn (Wright) Bolles. Robert proposed to Evelyn on April 6, 2009 at a Bible Babes meeting and married on August 22, 2009.
After completing his tours of duty and retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Anberry Rehabilitation Center and Merced Transit driving and transporting individuals. Robert worked for GMG Aero Space starting up an aircraft maintenance service for Sky King, Inc., where he served as an Administrator. He was a Life Member of VFW; a member of, Chief Okemos Sportmans Club, and served on the Potterville United Methodist Board of Trustees. When he had free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending “his” garden and riding his quad.
Robert is survived by his wife of 8 years, Evelyn Kreischer; daughter, Katharine Abbott; granddaughters, Katie (Michael) Harrison, Leslie (Kevin) Goodman; 10 great-grandchildren; step grandchildren, Robert Abbott and Matilda Abbott; sister, Linda Cook; brothers, Milo (Inez) Kreischer and John Kreischer; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Mullen) Kreischer in 2007; parents, James and Lorene Kreischer; brother, Leonard Kreischer; brother-in-law, Kenneth Cook; grandson, Jimmy Dean Kreischer-Brown; sister-in-law, Mabel Kreischer; and son-in-law, Jimmy Abbott .
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2: 00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street Merced, California. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery located at 32053 McCabe Road, Santa Nella, California. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sycamore Creek Potterville Campus Church located at 105 North Church Street, Potterville, Michigan, 48876.
