

Rosalia Quintana Villalpando went home to the Lord on July 27,2022 at the age of 71. Rosalia was born November 20th, 1950 in Colusa, California to Constantino and Apolonia Ramirez. The family moved to Marysville when she was a child. She attended Marysville High School and went on to attend and graduate from Chico State University with her teaching degree.
In 1974, Rosalia married Armando Villalpando. Her teaching career brought them to Merced, CA. Rosalia started and ended her teaching career with the Le Grand Union High School district where she taught Spanish and English as a second language. She retired from teaching after serving the district for 30 years. She inspired her students and instilled passion for higher education where she helped her students research colleges, careers, and financial aid opportunities. Her passion for teaching was undeniable. There were countless adults and kids she taught English to in her free time.
Rosalia had two children. She raised her kids with love, compassion, and determination. As a young mother she was very involved with her kids’ recreational activities. She was an active mother that had activities planned every weekend growing up which included camping, boating, and snow skiing. Together, the family went through life taking on trials and tribulations.
She was a devout Catholic with an unwavering faith in God. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Parish. It was her priority that the same faith was instilled in her children and her granddaughter. She regularly and quietly picked different organizations to help others in need. This included making Christmas boxes filled with gifts for children, donating to children’s hospitals, or adopting children for Christmas.
Rosalia was preceded in death by her son, Armando Villalpando Jr.; brother, Robert Ramirez; father, Constantino Ramirez, and her mother, Apolonia Ramirez.
She is survived by her husband, Armando Villalpando; daughter Minerva (Steven) Silveira of Atwater; Granddaughter, Olivia; brother Rodrigo (Francis) Ramirez of Acampo, CA; Sisters Apolonia Scheuerman of Yuba City and Raquel (Rodolfo) Villalpando of Yuba City, CA. She also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be 8/10/22 from 4pm-8pm at Stratford Evans. A rosary will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on 8/11/22 at 9:30 am with funeral mass immediately following at 10 am. A graveside internment will immediately follow at Evergreen Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her son. A celebration of life will follow at Veteran’s Cove at Yosemite Lake.
