Rubio was known for his enormous smile and infectious laugh. He had a heart of gold, which was evident in all he did for his family and friends. Rubio was adventurous, loved life and lived every moment to it's fullest. His love for cars never wavered and he shared that passion with his son. Rubio especially loved to spend time with his son, family and friends. He was a veteran of the Gulf War where he served proudly and honorably as a navy Corpsman.
Rubio is survived by his life partner, Sandy Williams; brothers, Genaro (Dani) Avila, Johnny (Jennifer) Avila, Tony (Lisa) Avila, Carlos Avila; step-son Angelo Fierro Jr.; grandchildren, Lacrisa (Thomas) Stevens, Mykel and Elisha Fierro; great grandchildren Noah and Leah Stevens; nephews and nieces, Genaro (Kristina) Avila Jr., RoseAnne (Ceasar) Johnson, Evonne (Felix) Noriega, Anthony Avila, Melissa Avila, Jacob Andrus, Lucas Avila, Brandon Avila, Allison Gallardo and Cayden Avila, as well as many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Avila; mother, Barbara Avila; and his beloved son and best friend Rubio Avila Jr. .
