Sonia Hernandez was born March 10, 1967 in Merced, California and passed away January 1, 2010 in Merced, California at the age of 43 years.
Sonia was a member of the Yosemite Church Congregation. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Sonia is survived by her husband, Arthur Hernandez of Merced; son, Arthur Marcos Hernandez; daughters, Stephanie Hernandez and Alisha Escalante; stepdaughters, Tanya Hernandez and Alexandra Foster; parents, Gene and Leah Cavazos of Oxnard, Ca, brother, Tony Hurtado of Oxnard, Ca; sister, Monique Hopkins of Oxnard, Ca; nephews, Anthony Hurtado and Michael Padilla; nieces, Angela Montano and Andrea Hurtado; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins. Sonia is also survived by three grandchildren, Adrian, Frankie, and Arthur III and by seven step grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Yosemite Church, 2230 East Yosemite Avenue, Merced, Ca.
Burial will follow at Merced District Cemetery.
