Sue was born on a family farm in Merced County to French immigrants Victor and Marie Meissonnier.
Following her graduation from Merced Union High School in 1948, she started working for Pacific Bell, she retired from Pacific Bell as Supervisor long distance operator after 30 years of service. She was a member of the local Chapter of the Telephone Company Pioneers, and also worked as Hostess for Sur James Restaurant for 35 years.
A member of St. Patrick's Church, she was a hospice volunteer, volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul and Mercy Medical Center. She was always volunteering at the American Legion on Thanksgiving Day to help feed the poor and homeless.
Sue was a genuine and caring lady, she was known for her unselfish attitude and willingness to help her family and those around her with grace and kindness. She exemplified a woman of yesteryear where physical hard work was not uncommon for women of this era growing up helping on the family farm. She was strong in spirit and a woman that held the highest regard for always doing the right thing in her path in life. Considered a soft spoken woman, that was admired by those that knew her best.
Sue was proud of her French heritage and loved her trips to France to visit all her French family, She loved speaking french to anyone that could. Also her favorite amtrak trips to San Francisco.
Sue is preceded in death by her daughter Suzanne Kimmons, her brother Victor Meissonnier II and her nephews Victor Meissonier III and David Francey Meissonnier.
She is survived by her 3 daughters Shereé Shelden (Ellot) of Tacoma, WA, Shauna Reinheimer of Sacramento, CA and Shelly Mihal of Sacramento, CA. All her grandchildren and great grandchildren she loved dearly; Mia Cruickshank (Jason) of Atwater, CA, David Olano (Brooke), Paul Olano (Jenifer) of Atwater, CA, Roxanne Folland (Robert) of Sacramento, CA, Sara Reinheimer of San Francisco, CA and Willie Reinheimer. Her great grandchildren Ema, Sam and Olivia Cruickshanks, Sydney, Joey, Chris, Pauly Olano and Gavin, Katilyn and Chris, Aurora and Cash Folland and all her family in France.
A Funeral Service for Suzanne will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, California.
