

Tommy Maxwell passed away at his home in Chico, Ca. Friday, Oct 9th at the age of 68 after a brief battle with cancer. Tommy was born in Merced, Ca. to Tom Sr. and Marie Maxwell. Tommy was married to Patricia Ann Maxwell for 13 years. Tommy proudly served in the Merchant Marines during the Vietnam Era, where he also trained with the Navy Seals in San Diego. After his service to his country had ended Tommy spent many years working as an Aircraft structures sheet metal mechanic. He was particularly proud of working with his father at the Naval Air Rework Facility (NARF) in North Island, San Diego, Ca. In his later years Tommy also served as a caregiver. Tommy enjoyed spending time with his large family and friends. He never failed to have a kind word or a meaningful conversation with anyone who was with him. Tommy had a huge heart and was always caring for others throughout his life.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife Patsy of Chico. He leaves behind his children whom he loved with all his heart; Tommy O. Maxwell I of Merced, Tommy O. Maxwell III (Maribela) of Washington, Amy Maxwell of Washington, David Black, Valerie Sorensen (Harley) of Nebraska, Christina Aguilera and Lisa Colvin of Merced, and Marissa Carlos of Chico. Tom’s siblings; Glenda Maxwell Warde (and James) of Chico, Lester Maxwell of Ventura, Anthony Maxwell of Chico and Charles Mahatadse of Simi Valley. Nieces and Nephews; Paget Ekelund, Brian Ekelund, Maria Bevins, Krystal Ekeland, Lester Jr. (Trey), Tami Maxwell, Anthony Maxwell, Luk Maxwell, Sara Kay Maxwell, Vanessa Mahatadse. Tommy and Pat have 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
