

He was born in Los Banos, California on August 2, 1928 and was raised in Dos Palos. He was a life-long resident of Merced County.
He graduated Dos Palos High School in 1946 and attended UC Berkeley before joining the army. While assigned to X Corps, Artillery HQ Division as a radio operator in Korea, he was awarded the bronze star for meritorious service. He was self-employed as a farmer, later became a Constable, serving the Dos Palos area for many years. In 1986 he retired from Merced County as a Deputy Marshal.
Dub is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Barbara and 2 sons, Rickey Porter and Wally Williams. He is survived by his son Bobby (Lisa) Porter of Arkansas and a daughter and son-in-law Robyn and Rick Lindgren of Atwater and 2 grandchildren, Chad and Daniel, plus a host of friends from the Atwater, Bell Drive Starbucks. He was quick to smile, fiercely independent and will truly be missed.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 1100 a.m. at the Merced District Cemetery, 1300 B Street, Merced.
