
Funeral service for Joshua W “Josh” Secrist will be held Saturday, December 20th at 1:30 pm at Stephens Funeral Home chapel. Bro. Chuck Overby and Rev. Rodney Baker will be officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Secrist, 22, of Collinsville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday.
A very talented person, Josh was an accomplished musician, songwriter and film maker. He was the founder of X6X8 Productions. He will be remembered as an inspiration to many people during his life, always energetic and full of life. He was funny, strong-willed and a constant prankster. His motto that he lived by was “live each day as if it’s your last.”
He is survived by his mother, Angela Secrist, father, Kevin Secrist, twin brother, Joseph Secrist, sister, Desarae Secrist, grandmothers Charlotte Rogers and Ann Brand, grandfather James Secrist and great-grandmother Nannie Pearl Jones. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Kelly Gray, Rhonda Doerner, Jeremy Brand, James “Jimmy” Secrist, Sean Jones, Bubba Jones, Sherry Gonzales, Shana Cooper and many beloved cousins.
Josh is also survived by “brothers of the heart”, Trey Hollis, John Edwards, Chris Foster and close special friends, Shari Perdue and Jeff Sharp.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Gene Jones; grandfather Jerry Brand,great-grandmothers Margaret Fontan and Myrtis Quinn, great-grandfathers, William F. Jones, Johnny Fontan , Charlie Quinn and a “brother forever in his heart” Hunter McQuaig.
Pallbearers will be Christian Shows, Trey Hollis, John Edwards, Chris Foster, T.J. McCarty, Kejuan Culbreath and Tyler Shows. Honorary pallbearers will James “Jimmy” Secrist, Jeff Sharp, Patrick Stephens, Dana Riley, Mike Scruggs, Bill Wilkerson and Scott McQuaig.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5pm to 8 pm at Stephens Funeral Home.
