Mary Louise Cobb

Louise left her earthly life on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She had lived for 94 years, 5 Months, and 19 days. She was born September 12, 1920 in Scott County, Mississippi to Hattie Walters Haralson and William Edward Haralson.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Slay and Romona. One daughter, Shere Sue Cobb Donofrio and husband Chuck. Six grandchildren: Gabe Donofrio and wife Lynn, Angela Slay, Matt Donofrio and wife Leslie, James Andrew “Jim” Slay and wife Corrie, Micah Joseph Slay and Karen, and Lisa Donofrio Connoly and husband Brian. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two wonderful caregivers, Shirley Coleman and Berniece Perry.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sgt. James E. Slay, who was killed in action in WWII, and her husband Sgt. Jere J. Cobb, a veteran of WWII.

Many family members and friends preceded her in death. She was the last of her generation in the Haralson and Slay family and in the Cobb family leaves a sister-in-law, Alice Cobb.

She was involved in many church and civic activities during her life.

Services will be held Sunday at Stephens' Funeral Home in the chapel at 2:00 P.M.. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 P.M. Til 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
