
Funeral services for Myrtis Elizabeth Quinn Scruggs will be held Friday at 10 am in the chapel at Stephens Funeral Home. Rev. A.M. Mansfield and Rev. Larry Melton will be officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park cemetery.
Mrs. Scruggs, 85, of Meridian, passed away Monday at Golden Living Nursing Center. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Abundant Life Tabernacle. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her two favorite scriptures were Acts 2:38-39, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call” and Psalm 91:1 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
She is survived by her children Elinda Anderson (Randy), Teresa Ritter (David), Carla Dorman (Billy), her grandchildren April Buschmann (Elvin), Robert Anderson (Priscilla), Andrea Perry (Joshua), Andrew Ritter (Amanda), Austin David Ritter, Stephen Ritter, Benjamin Ritter, Michael Ritter, Kyle Rutledge and Baily Dorman. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret “Mac” Clark , Charlotte Rodgers and 11 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
Mrs. Scruggs was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Myrtis Lena Quinn, husband Otis B. Scruggs Sr., son Otis B. Scruggs Jr., siblings Helen Young, Betty Lane Walker, Billy C. Quinn, Bobby G. Quinn, her twin sister Lennie Leon Quinn, step son Louis E. Scruggs and nephew Joshua W. Secrist.
Visitation will be Friday from 9am to 10 am at Stephens Funeral Home.
