Robert Paul Rutledge

A memorial service for Mr. Robert Paul Rutledge will be held Saturday, June 21st at Spring Hill Methodist Church at 10 am. Rev. Paul Raley will be officiating. Stephens Funeral Home of Meridian is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rutledge, 59, of Meridian, passed away at his residence on Saturday, June 14th .

He was a welder by trade working in the fabrication industry. Mr. Rutledge enjoyed his work with welding, woodworking, building different things using his hands to craft many projects. The memories that will be cherished by his family are his enjoyment of riding his motorcycle and spending time with his children and grandchildren. A time of eating crackers and drinking tea was made special to his grandchildren. He will also be remembered as a devoted family man, a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Rutledge; children, Josh Rutledge and wife Mandy, Melissa Suttles and husband Craig and Kimberly Velez. He is also survived by his step children, James Shelton and wife Alexia and Christina Shelton, grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Ethan, Miley, Megan, Sofia, Logan, Alanna, Aiden, Cameron, Peyton and Baylee; sisters, Susan Weir, Gladys Dover and Cheryl Huey.

Mr. Rutledge was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Opel Rutledge.
