In Magnolia Memory Gardens. Mr. Temple passed away at his home Wednesday March 7, 2012.
He was a US Navy veteran having served in the Pacific theatre during World War Two. He was a
graduate of Cumberland Law School in Lebanon, TN. Arlo practiced law in Meridian until his retirement
in 2001. He was elected and served as Circuit Court Judge for Lauderdale, Clarke and Wayne Counties.
He was a life time member and deacon of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, member of the American
Legion, Optimist International, an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. Survivors include his wife of 60
Years Carolyn McRae Temple of Meridian, children William Arlo Jr. (Joellen) Temple of Meridian,
Dr. David McRae (Sandy) Temple of Jackson, Susan Carol Temple of Memphis, TN and Rev. Thomas
Edward (Brenda) Temple of Maben, MS, grandchildren Alisha Miller, Jennifer Temple and Morgan Miller
all of Meridian, Kelly Temple of Atlanta, GA, Michelle Reza of Charleston, SC, Caroline Temple of Jackson,
William Arlo Temple III of Charleston, Christy Payne of Monroe, LA, Michael and Lauren Temple of
Maben, MS, great grandchildren Alexis Gay and Avery Miller of Meridian, Will and Bella Temple and
Madelyn Reza of Charleston, SC and Austin Jones and Gabriel Payne of Monroe, LA. One sister Alice
Sue McCloud of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Dewey Temple and Jerusha Elnora Lackey
Temple, siblings Helen Jerusha Smith, George Dewey Temple, Robert Lamar Temple and Bobby W.
Temple. Pallbearers serving are William Arlo Temple III., Michael Temple, Mark Reza, Scott Miller,
Tim Allred and Dan Holland. The family request in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Poplar
Springs Drive Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
