March 18, 2004
Born April 5, 1940 in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba, Anna passed away peacefully March 18, 2004 with loving family by her side.
Anna (nee Lussier) spent her early years in Manitoba, where she met and married Charles (Jerry) Texmo in 1959. They and their 6 boys lived happily on their farm until 1977, when they moved to Port Hardy, BC. In 1995, Anna and Jerry retired to Merritt, BC where they have resided since. Anna was employed at the Springfield Leader in Lac du Bonnet and later at the North Island Gazette in Port Hardy. She surrounded herself with literature, her love of which she passed on to all of her sons, broadening their horizons and enriching their lives. Affectionately known as Mooma, her warm and caring personality always made others feel they were a part of the family, and she never hesitated to tuck them under her wing. Her love of all things living touched everyone who knew her. A recent deterioration in health limited her activities, but, she was always content in her garden and puttering around in the yard.
Predeceased by parents Louise Simone and Emile, one brother and an infant sister.
Survived by devoted husband of 44 years, Charles (Jerry) Texmo, and family Darrell (Vi-Anne), Mark (Peggy), Rick (Jacqueline), Ian (Esther), Erik (Angela), Rory (Carol), and grandchildren Jennafer, Brian, Gary, Scott, Steven, Sarah, Gavin, Marinda, Emily, Lacey, Jodi, Rachelle, Joycelyne, Marie, Danielle, Jean-Paul, Nick, and Chelsea, 3 brothers, 7 sisters and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anna's name to the Heart and Lung Association.

December 27, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles “Jerry” Texmo on Dec. 27, 2016, in Merritt, at the age of 79.
Affectionately known as Poopa, Tex and Chapper, Jerry was pre-deceased by his wife of 44 years, Anna, in 2004. He is survived by his 6 sons; Darrell (Suzanne), Mark, Rick (Jacqueline), Ian, Erik (Angela), Rory (Carol); grandchildren Jennafer, Brian, Gary, Scott, Steven, Sarah, Jodi, Lacey, Rachelle, Jocelynne, Marie, Dannielle, Jean-Paul, Gavin, Marinda, Emily; as well as his sisters Mary Anne and Linia, and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Dad had many passions in life, including camping and fishing, baseball, golf, hockey, curling and hunting. He was also very proud to have been an auxiliary police officer in Port Hardy.
Born and raised in Manitoba, Jerry was employed as a logger on Vancouver Island, an equipment operator in Lac du Bonnet, and worked at AECL in Pinawa before moving his family to Port Hardy in 1977 where he worked at Island Copper Mine until 1994. He and his wife Anna (Mooma) moved to Merritt in 1995 where he opened a successful automotive repair shop with his son Mark. After selling the business, Dad retired and spent his time gardening, puttering, swimming, curling and working on improving his golf game.
After several years of health issues, Jerry passed away peacefully at Gillis House with his sons at his side. Special thanks go out to the staff at Gillis House for their exceptional care of Dad. Despite his worsening health, he always tried to stay upbeat, whether with a smile, a joke or a song to brighten their days.
In lieu of a formal service, a celebration of their lives is planned for both Mooma and Poopa in Port Hardy during the Summer of 2017. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Jerry’s Memory.
“We are comforted in the knowledge that Mom and Dad are together again, and he is finally at peace. We cherished the final hours that we spent with him."
Dad, you will be missed.
